Summer Work Program

The Riley Foundation is providing an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to apply for a grant to hire a college student for the summer.

The program will:

  • Help college students obtain knowledge of nonprofit organizations.
  • Expose students to careers in the nonprofit area.
  • Help organizations serve their clients by providing resources needed to complete a specific project.

About the Program

 

·  Organizations may apply for a grant to hire a college student to complete a specific project.

·  Students will receive a salary of $4000 for 8 weeks of work.

·  Supplementary funds for materials may be available.

·  Agency staff time will not be considered.

·  Project should have a clear purpose, objective and timetable in which the project can be accomplished in 8 weeks.

·  Examples:  assembling market data, measuring client satisfaction, developing new services, making videos, creating newsletters or websites.

·  Does not apply to:  regular ongoing activities that are a part of everyday operations of the organization, i.e. secretarial tasks.

·  Information about the program will be sent to the Placement Office at all colleges and universities in Mississippi.

 

 

Deadline for Nonprofit Organizations to submit a Grant Application:

 

 January 31 (by Noon)

 

(Due by noon the following Monday if 1st is on a weekend)
