Organization
Eligibility & Requirements

Organization must be a 501(c)(3) and not a private foundation
(that is, a public charity) as defined under Section 509(a), or a governmental
agency. Applicants may not, however, be "supporting organizations"
described in section 509(a)(3). The organization must be based in
Meridian and/or Lauderdale County, MS.

Because the program is to help
introduce students to the nonprofit sector outside of academia and religious
organizations, no grants will
be given to schools, colleges, universities or churches.

Organizations can apply for funding to hire only one
student.
-
Organizations are eligible to apply if they have previously
received funding or currently seeking funding from The Riley Foundation for
other projects.

Organizations awarded a grant for this program will:
a) be required to submit a final financial and evaluation report on or before
August 31. b) recruit and hire student.

Students are required to attend a luncheon at The Riley
Foundation the first Tuesday in June and the second Tuesday in July.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in any college
or university provided:

they have not been previously employed with the applying organization;

they have no relatives on organization's staff
-
student
plans to return to school in the fall
Students from Mississippi
who are attending a college or university in another state are eligible
to apply.
